Marketing Monday: Last chance before holidays
It's now or never if you're going to make a few new contacts or, better yet, do the marketing necessary to fill your plate for January 2012, a notoriously slow time. If you want to reach out to new prospects, this is the week to do it. Continue reading
It's Marketing Monday: what are you doing?
Many of you have even adopted Marketing Monday as your day to work "on" your business instead of "in" your business. If that's what you're doing today, tell us what you're up to. It just may inspire others to do the same. Continue reading
Ice cold calling
I‘ve always compared cold calling to dating. If you know someone you want to get to know better, you have to first introduce yourself. After all, servicing clients is what pays the bills. Continue reading

He drilled me about how I had "found" him and was very angry with his colleague who had played a role in connecting us. After the longest 5-minutes of my life, our meeting was over. I breathed a sign of relief and then immediately counted... I still had all my fingers and toes. Continue reading
The View From Inside: Lessons I Learned as a Hiring Manager
In November, I attended a medical writers’ conference in Milwaukee, and listened to a presentation given by a hiring manager, telling freelancers what they needed to know about getting and keeping the client. And I was stunned by how much of it I already knew, but had somehow managed to forget. Continue reading
