I sometimes wonder if growing is something that comes naturally to everybody.
Or maybe there are two types of growth: that kind happens to you, and the kind that you proactively pursue yourself.
That idea came from my interview with Luke Mysse when we talked recently about his opening session, "Options For Growth," on June 21 at the Creative Freelancer Conference. Here's a short excerpt:
“Ultimately it comes down to what you want to build," Luke said. "I ask that question a lot, of young freelancers especially: Where do they see themselves five years down the road?
It’s amazing to me that people haven’t thought that far… If you’re out on your own, you’ve got some sort of drive that got you to that place … You have to ask: What do I really want to become in the next five years? You have to decide that first, before you decide what the options are for growth.”

If you haven’t thought about where you want to be in five years—the Creative Freelancer Conference will be a chance to do just that.
You will also find Luke there in the hallway and at the bar, where he'll be doing what he loves: one-on-one conversations, reconnecting with people and just trying to help people (while enjoying a few drinks. Will you be there?
