CFC: Don't just sit there! Participate

I notice that most people come to their first Creative Freelancer Conference because they're enticed by the speaker lineup and all the best practices they will learn to grow their business.

But they come back year after year (this June 21-22 in Boston is our 5th!) because of the interaction with the other freelancers. And we try to foster as much interaction as possible. (There's not a lot of sitting back and listening here.)

We're trying a few new things this year that I'm hoping you will want to participate in. We need everyone who’s there to join in the conversation. Share what you know. Ask questions. After all, we’re all in this together.

In fact, we’ve made it easy for you to engage—and we’re looking for people who are interested in participating in three aspects of the conference:

  • Happy Hour presentations—we’re looking for folks who want to get some practice speaking to a group by giving 5-minute, pecha-kucha-style presentations
  • Live business audit—I am conducting a real-time business review for one creative freelancer who volunteers to get feedback on their business and marketing strategy
  • Morning roundtables—Friday, June 22 will kick off with roundtable discussions over coffee and we’re looking for discussion leaders … name your topic!

Interested in any of these opportunities? E-mail me directly.
