[Podcast] Freelancers: Overcome Your Fears at CFC 2013

Here's #2 in a week of daily podcasts with CFC 2013 Speakers. Yesterday was an interview with the Communicatrix.

Today it's Luke Mysse, a favorite CFC speaker year after year, who will be back again this year (June 22-24 in San Francisco) to inspire and activate, which is what his business card says he's good at.

In our recent interview for the CFC 2013 Speaker Podcast series (listen here), he gave me a taste of what he'll be ranting about.

In a nutshell, he will talk about The Arc of Success and tell the story of how he overcame his own fears by expanding his Luke Myssevision and committing to helping others. (Which means its especially relevant for all of you who want to do good with your work.)

In preparation for all of this, he posted a question to the CFC LI group asking about your fears and challenges. Turns out, most of your fears fall into these 4 categories:

  • Getting in over your head. Not having the right skill set for what your clients need.
  • Messing up the financial side. This is a big one, which is why we asked June Walker to come back and talk about how not to cheat yourself on your taxes.
  • Controlling clients or taking on the wrong ones
  • Marketing effectively. This is always an issue, which is why we also invited Colleen Wainwright, back to speak on “Making People Love You Madly: Selling Yourself in the Post-Modern Marketplace"

Come see and hear him in person at CFC 2013: The Business Conference for the Creatively Self Employed (June 22-24 in San Francisco). Early bird deadline is March 15. And you can get an extra $50 off with promo code "ILISE"
