Love Letter to Freshbooks

Deidre RienzoDear Freshbooks,

I’m one of those people who isn’t naturally gifted when it comes to money.

My issues with money started in college when my dad gave me a credit card for “emergency use only.”  I didn’t realize back then that late night trips to Walmart, and buying everyone at the bar shots of tequila, weren’t emergencies.

When I started my own business, it became clear that I was going to have to learn to be good with money.  I had no choice.

Fortunately, I found you, Freshbooks.

I hope this isn’t too forward, but I am in love with you. You make my heart flutter. You bring me so much joy, save me hours of aggravation, and allow me to be organized.  You have smoothed my once rocky relationship with money, and you’ve made running my business so much easier.

When I started, I did my invoices in Quark.  I would dread the amount of time and work it took.  Now, my favorite part of the month, is the time I get to spend with you.

I didn’t know that invoicing could be so easy.  I had no idea that there was a simple way to view outstanding payments, run reports, track my time, and make and send professional invoices in mere seconds.  You even let me accept Paypal.  Sometimes, I have money in my account just hours after sending my invoice.  You mail invoices to the clients who prefer snail mail, and you give me a “report card” that lets me stack-up my results against those in my industry.

And on top of all of that, you even give me a discount for being a member of freelancersunion.org.  Oh Freshbooks, I just adore you.

With Sincere Gratitude,

Deidre Rienzo, www.connectwithcopy.com

  1. My thoughts exactly. I have been a loyal Freshbooks customer for over 2 years.

  2. Gretchen Brant says:

How does freshbooks compare to others? I'm looking at "the invoice machine" and your review of freshbooks sounds very similar to TIM.

What bookkeeping software do you use?

    Thanks!

    • Matt says:

Freshbooks is good and offers more depth than Invoice Machine. TIM is mostly invoicing.

Other great options are Zervant and Harvest, offers invoicing and a lot more.

  3. My sentiments exactly!
