Check out What to Charge: Pricing Strategies for Freelancers and Consultants by Laurie Lewis. It's available on Amazon and elsewhere. Be sure to get the 2nd edition, not the first.
Lewis is all about working with the numbers to calculate and increase rates in sync with the marketplace.
None of this "charge what you're worth" stuff, which translates to pick a high figure to broadcast that you have self-esteem.
